Wellbeing
At the Brier School we are committed to making it our mission to promote resilience and positive wellbeing for all our students, parents/carers and staff. We understand wellbeing as the state of being comfortable, healthy and happy. We will drive the message forward to ensure that mental health is “everyone's business” across the whole school community. We will strive to create an environment which has a whole school approach in providing excellent mental health support, understanding and intervention. We will place wellbeing at the heart of our school.
The Brier School is proud to have achieved the Wellbeing Award for Schools (WAS) in 2019 for our commitment to emotional wellbeing and good mental health across our school community. We were reassessed in 2023 and have been successful in our reaccreditation - see below for full report.
The School's approach to wellbeing is continuing to have a profound impact on pupils’, staff, families and the wider community. The values of care, support and kindness define how staff approach relationships with each other and pupils. The school is truly inclusive, and this inclusivity extends to very effectively supporting parents and wider community members.
