The Brier School first received an outstanding Ofsted report in September 2008 and has maintained this status to this day with our most recent inspection taking place in February 2023. This is now our fifth Outstanding inspection in a row, a feat rarely achieved nationally in any school.

Academy Status and Ofsted Information

The Brier School converted to academy status and joined the Ascent Multi Academy Trust on 1 June 2025. Following conversion, the school was assigned a new Unique Reference Number (URN): 151763 and is legally recognised as a new academy.

The school's 2023 Ofsted inspection outcome relates to the predecessor school (URN 103878) and was awarded before conversion to academy status. Whilst the academy continues the same commitment to providing high-quality education, care and support for pupils, Ofsted regards the current academy as a separate legal entity. Consequently, the inspection outcome remains attached to the predecessor school.
