Welcome

Welcome to The Brier School, a flagship special school in the borough of Dudley known for its excellent reputation. We proudly support 205 pupils aged 4 to 16 with moderate and complex physical, learning, and communication difficulties. Our inclusive ethos ensures that every child’s unique abilities are recognised and nurtured.

At The Brier, we aim to create an environment where pupils enjoy school life, build friendships, and receive a holistic education in a safe and supportive setting. Our motto, ‘Preparing for life, building on our strengths’, encapsulates our mission to help each child become a valued member of society, regardless of their challenges.

Since receiving our first outstanding Ofsted report in September 2008, we have maintained this status, with our latest inspection in February 2023 confirming our fifth consecutive outstanding rating—a rare achievement in the national educational landscape.

Our bespoke curriculum, designed to be Ambitious, Inclusive, and Meaningful (AIM High), ensures that all pupils reach their full potential and are well-prepared for life after The Brier. We work collaboratively with parents and carers to enrich the lives of our exceptional pupils, creating a supportive atmosphere where every child thrives.

As Headteacher, I am honoured to lead such a successful school. Each day offers new opportunities to engage with our wonderful children and dedicated staff, making my role immensely rewarding.

I encourage you to explore our website for more information about our ethos, values, and the caring environment we strive to provide. Should you have any questions or require further details, please do not hesitate to contact the school directly. We are here to help.
