  • School Games - Gold Mark 2025-26

    We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year our third consecutive year at Gold level.

    The School Games Mark is a Government‑led award scheme, launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust. It recognises schools for their commitment to developing competitive sport both within school and across the wider community. We are delighted that our continued success has been acknowledged through this prestigious award.

    Throughout the year, our students have proudly represented the school in a range of local inter‑school disability and non‑disability competitions. We are extremely proud of their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to school sport.

     

     

  • Jigsaw Flagship

    We are thrilled to announce that our dedicated efforts in delivering outstanding PSHE sessions have been recognised, and we are now a Flagship School for the Jigsaw organisation! This achievement reflects our commitment to embedding excellent PSHE delivery throughout all aspects of school life! 

    To earn this prestigious status, we demonstrated that our lessons are not only inspiring and memorable but also align seamlessly with our school values and the Jigsaw scheme of work. Everyone at The Brier works diligently to foster an environment where every child feels appreciated and empowered, ensuring that our PSHE curriculum is both engaging and impactful.

    We are incredibly proud of this recognition and look forward to continuing our journey with Jigsaw, fostering a positive and nurturing atmosphere for all our students.

     

     

  • World Book Day

    On the 5th March it was World Book Day in school. The children attended school in wonderful costumes dressed as their favourite character from a book. It was lovely to see all of the costumes on display. Our staff also displayed some fantastic costumes.

  • Christmas Card Winner

    We are delighted to announce that Nathan has been named runner-up in Mike Woods’ Christmas Card competition! His design featuring a gingerbread house captured the judges' hearts.

     

    As a reward, Nathan received a box of chocolates and his artwork will be turned into a Christmas bauble. 

    Well done, Nathan! We’re proud of your creativity and love your design.

    On Wednesday, 3rd December 2025, The Brier School had the privilege of welcoming 18 professionals for a school showcase day.

  • Bikeability in school

    Well done to our children for completing their Bike ability last month . We had some really lovely comments from the instructors acknowledging the impeccable behaviour of the children. Congratulations and well done all. 

  • Mayor Visit

    On Thursday 16th October we had the pleasure of welcoming Cat Eccles, Jason Griffin, and Alette Bernasconi to the Unicorn Centre and Brier School. It was wonderful for them to meet our students and staff, and to learn more about our school and its vital role within the local community. A thank you to our students who took the time to welcome our visitors and showcase the what Brier School has to offer. 

  • Mayor in school

    On Thursday, October 9th, we had the pleasure of hosting an exciting visit from The Worshipful, the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Peter Lee. He came to The Brier School to meet our students and explore our school. 

     

    The Mayor was fantastic with the students, engaging warmly and showing genuine interest. He even wore his ceremonial garments, which fascinated the students particularly the elaborate robe and sleeves, which they found especially impressive. It was a memorable occasion that truly highlighted the importance of British values.
