Ruby Class

Ruby Class is a specialist SLD class with pupils in both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Our main focus is encouraging and developing our student’s individual communication so they are able to make their wants, needs, thoughts and feelings known. Our curriculum has been designed to engage students in a range of academic and independent life skills, through creative, practical and sensory lessons. This supports them to not only succeed in an education setting but also at home and in the wider community. Our aim is to encourage students to develop confidence, independence, social skills and emotional regulation so they are able to transfer their skills and thrive in their life.

Please feel free to get in touch by home school diary, phone or email ruby@brier.dudley.sch.uk, if you have any queries or concerns.

Each class produces their own termly newsletter to let parents and carers know what learning is taking place within their classroom. To read the Ruby Class newsletter/s click on the link below and search for Ruby Class.

Suggested Home Learning

There are many ways parents can extend and support their child’s learning at home. Minimal input of resources and time can still heavily influence their learning. Easy low cost activities such as regular reading at home or simple word games can support children’s basic language skills; whilst offering experiences such as exploring the local community can build a child’s understanding of the world and support a range of areas such as maths and physical development.

We have put together a selection of suggested home learning activities for parents / carers to use with their children. Use the link below to view / download our Ruby Class Home Learning Activities document.
