Bronze and Silver DofE Expedition

Bronze and Silver DofE Expedition

During the second week in June the Brier students set out to participate in their DofE awards. Over the two days our students demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and resilience. The expedition was at Kinver Scout Camp. It was a fantastic experience that challenged them both physically and mentally, while also providing a meaningful engagement with nature even if the squirrels did eat the staff doughnuts!

During the visit students explored the historic Kinver Rock Houses, marvelling at the fascinating underground dwellings carved into the sandstone cliffs also housed to a group of friendly Robbins.

Following this, they enjoyed a scenic walk over Kinver Edge, taking in breath taking views of the surrounding countryside. An important part of the expedition was the overnight camp, where students showed independence and resourcefulness by setting up their own tents and acquiring (stealing) the staff chairs!

They also took on the responsibility of preparing their own lunches, demonstrating valuable life skills such as planning, teamwork, and self-sufficiency.

A special thank you goes to Tash, Libby, and Wayne for their support throughout the expedition. Their guidance and encouragement played a vital role in making this a successful and memorable experience for our students. We are incredibly proud of all our students for their dedication and enthusiasm. Congratulations on earning your Bronze and Silver DofE Awards a fantastic achievement.
