Astley Burf Residential
Last week, our Year 10 students embarked on an unforgettable five day residential at Astley Burf. Despite beginning the week with a brief thunderstorm on Monday, the sun soon appeared, and we enjoyed warm, sunny weather for the rest of the trip!
Throughout the week, students participated in a range of exciting activities, including high ropes, rock climbing, and archery both on-site and out in the surrounding countryside.
They also explored the charming town of Bewdley sampling both the sweets and ice-creams from the shops there. Students then visited the safari park, and enjoyed the Habberly Trail, making the most of every opportunity to challenge themselves and try new things.
Our students showed incredible enthusiasm and courage, embracing every activity with positivity. We are so proud of their positive attitude and resilience. Some even tried new foods like a cheese sandwich and cheese and potato pie for the first time!
A huge thank you goes to the centre staff, whose dedication and care ensured that every student’s needs were met and that everyone had a safe, enjoyable experience.
We'd like to congratulate Vinnie’s mum for earning our "Best Packed Student Award," thanks to her military style packing skills so impressive, even NASA would be proud! Additionally, Cameron’s and Thomas’s mums received the "Best Supplies Award" for generously providing enough snacks to feed an army.
Finally, we are incredibly grateful to all the parents who supported our students in participating in this essential residential trip. We believe it plays a vital role in fostering independence, resilience, and personal growth in our students. Thank you for helping to make this a truly memorable and impactful week!
And finally thank you to all the staff who went above and beyond!
