Our Charities

Giving Support

At the Brier School we try our best to raise lots of money for really worthwhile causes. Here are a few of the charities that we support at the Brier.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Every September The Brier School holds a Macmillan Coffee morning to help support people touched by cancer.

Jeans 4 Genes

Every September The Brier School raises money to help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures for previously incurable genetic diseases.

Black Country Food Bank

Each year The Brier School collects food items though Harvest Festival donations. The food collected is then given to Black Country Food Bank to help vulnerable individuals and families in crisis, giving them an important breathing space at a time of great need.

Remembrance Poppy Appeal

Throughout October and November pupils and staff at The Brier School buy poppies and other lovely items to raise vital funds to help today's Armed Forces community.

Mary Stevens Hospice

At Christmas and Easter time The Brier School holds events to raise funds for Mary Stevens Hospice. The money helps them continue to provide the care and services that make such a difference to those living with an incurable illness, and also their families.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital

During the month of December The Brier School holds a Christmas Jumper Day. All of the proceeds are given to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The money is used for state-of-the-art equipment, pioneering research and exciting, creative environments to ensure that the children and families they look after continue to receive the world-class care that they all deserve.

Guide Dogs

Each year The Brier School takes part in a sponsored walk to raise money for the Guide Dog charity. The money raised enables us to sponsor our own puppy which will give freedom and independence to someone with sight loss. The names of the puppies we have sponsored so far are Brier, Val, Bromley, Carol and Russ. Click here to read a news article about our sponsored walks.

Receiving Support

Our wonderful children at The Brier School gratefully receive support from some local organisations.

Friends of The Brier (FOB) is a small team of volunteers who run our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The FOB team raise money to hold events and activities for the pupils and families of The Brier School. Use the link below for more information about the FOB team and the work they do

Rotary International - National Kids Out Day/SEND Rotary International Football Festival

Our local Rotary Club pays for a group of children from The Brier School to go to the Drayton Manor Special Needs Day for fun-filled day out. We also attend the football festival at Villa Park. Both are dependant on COVID19 restrictions.
