Welcome to Opals class. We are a mixed year 10 and 11 group which consists of 8 boys and 3 girls. We are working hard on a wide range of qualifications and preparing for our examinations. All of us will complete Entry Level qualifications in a variety of subjects and some of us will do some GCSEs as well. We attend a local college once a week and have links with the local community to complete work experience. This helps us prepare for our future post 16 education and employment.
Opals Class produces its own termly newsletter to let parents and carers know what learning is taking place within their classroom. To read the Opals Class newsletter/s click on the link below and search for Opals Class.
Suggested Home Learning
There are many ways parents can extend and support their child’s learning at home. Minimal input of resources and time can still heavily influence their learning. Easy low cost activities such as regular reading at home or simple word games can support children’s basic language skills; whilst offering experiences such as exploring the local community can build a child’s understanding of the world and support a range of areas such as maths and physical development.
We have put together a selection of suggested home learning activities for parents / carers to use with their children. Use the link below to view / download our Opals Class Home Learning Activities document.
