Wellbeing Award letter

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware, the school was working towards the Wellbeing Award. It is with great pleasure, I can inform you that after the final verification visit in December, the school has fully achieved the status.

It was a whole school initiative incorporating pupils, parents, all staff and governors. Many different projects were completed across the school to develop positive mental health and wellbeing; Mindfulness, yoga, and mediation to name a few.

I would like to thank you all for your input with the surveys completed and a special thanks to the parents/governors that came in to speak to the Award Assessor. It was very helpful and we are very grateful for their input.

Also a massive thank you to all the staff for their tremendous effort with specific lessons, clubs and wellbeing week. A huge well done to all the Brier children for their enthusiasm and hard work.

At the Brier school, we are committed to promoting and protecting positive emotional wellbeing and mental health, this award highlights our continued efforts to do so.

“The Brier School offers an outstanding example of how wellbeing and mental health can contribute to improvements and strengths across the whole of the school and community”. (WAS verifier report December 2019)

We look forward to ensuring wellbeing remains a key focus.
