I am holding a third annual Older Person’s Information Fair tomorrow. Despite the title, everybody is welcome and so if you, a relative or neighbour may be interested please do come along.
The Fair offers support and advice on a wide range of topics and we will have 20 organisations attending. These will include: Public Health and Wellbeing teams who will carry out free health checks and offering advice and support, National Express for transport queries, Severn Trent Water offering advice on how to save water and money, Dudley home improvements and winter warm service, Department for Work & Pensions for benefit and welfare advice, and a range of local services and social groups. There really will be something to suit everyone.
This year, as well as the opportunity to have a chat with the various exhibitors, there will also be the opportunity to pop in and listen to talks by experts about basic internet skills, making the most of online services, how to protect yourself from online scams and fraud and how to protect yourself and your home from crime.
  • 10.30am: Barclays Bank – ‘Basic Internet Skills and digital Skills’
  • 11.00am: Lloyds Bank – ‘The Digital Age and its Benefits’
  • 11.30am: Trading Standards – ‘Scam Awareness’
  • 12noon: West Midlands Police – ‘Personal and Home Crime Prevention’
You are welcome to dip in and out of the talks and visit the stall around the hall as you please.
The event is completely free to attend and please bring along any friends, family, carers or anyone you think might be interested. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be on sale.
