Sapphire Class (Year 9)

Sapphire Class has 14 pupils and we are all in Year 9.
Our topics are:
In the first half of the autumn term we learn about World War one which includes recruitment, life in the trenches and the role of women during wartime. In the second half term, we focus upon World War two including The Blitz, evacuees and rationing.
Our topic in the spring term is tourism.  We will learn about different places to visit, the history of holidays, weather, climate and global warming.
Our final topic of the year is Africa where we study this vast continent and the diversity between its countries. We also look at misconceptions that people have about Africa.
As a class we have both curriculum and personal targets which we work towards. Respecting one another and appreciating difference are key areas which are instilled upon in Sapphire Class.
